When you arrive at Flushed Wellness, you will be welcomed and offered a seat to complete your initial consultation form (if you have not already completed online). Before the treatment begins the therapist will explain the treatment and answer any questions you might have.
Once you are ready to start and with permission the practitioner will insert the speculum whilst you are lying on your side and then assist you to roll onto your back where you will stay for the remainder of the treatment. You are completely covered for privacy throughout.
Your practitioner will start the water and give you a gentle belly massage with essential oils to soothe and relax the colon muscles and then continue to facilitate gentle fills and release of filtered water into your colon. The waste released can be viewed and your practitioner will explain what it means. You can discuss during the treatment about your consultation form and your health history and personal wellness goals. At the end of the treatment you will roll onto your side again, the water will be turned off and the speculum gently removed. At this time you will go straight to the toilet and let gravity assist with any remaining release. Once you have finished on the toilet you will get dressed and your practitioner will discuss any recommendations and treatment plans with you.

At Flushed Wellness the Hermann device is imported from Germany and is a “closed” colonic system. Which means nothing is open to the air. All waste material flows down a tube, through the colonic machine and into the sewerage line. There are no bad smells and no mess. All equipment is single use and disposable.
The clinic meets all NSW health standards.

Colonics should not be painful, however depending on your toxicity and the level of compaction in your colon, your first session may be a bit uncomfortable as all the toxins are stirred up to be released. Some clients experience nausea which goes away immediately after the toxicity is flushed from the body. Others experience mild to moderate cramping (similar to a dull period pain or diarrhoea) which again goes away once the body releases the toxicity. After your first session you should feel lighter, cleaner and refreshed. If you experience any pain you will have a trained colon therapist with you and treatment can stop at any time.

Anything you like! We recommend something that can be removed from the waist down as you will remove this for the duration of the treatment and be covered with a towel whilst on the table.

24 hours before your session, the most important thing to do is hydrate by drinking plenty of purified water. This will help to hydrate the body, and help soften waste material in the large intestine. You can also start the cleansing process by eating lightly and increasing your intake of fruits and vegetables.

You can go back to everyday life after a session. Some clients go to the gym, work or play sports. We do recommend that if it is your first colonic to relax after the session due to the large release of toxins. Most feel light and You might find you need to go to the toilet more frequently than often with loose stools. Please wait one hour after treatment before eating.

Flushed Wellness uses Sydney Water meeting standards. The water is further filtered through a 3 phase osmotic system connected to the machine before being warmed to the correct temperature.

No. The slow and gentle introduction of water into the colon during a colonic helps to tone the bowel by stimulating the natural peristaltic muscle and helping to strengthen it. It's essentially a ‘workout’ for your colon.

Cleansing the colon and a healthy microbiome are the keys to maintaining optimal health. Good and bad bacteria are both removed throughout the course of a session, however the balance of both is essential in your bowel for optimal gut health. The same thing happens when you go to the bathroom at home, there will always be good and bad gut bacteria leaving your body. The important bowel bacteria are present on the Colon wall and the walls of our Colon can often be covered in mucoid-plaque. If you have an overload of pathogens, yeasts, bacteria and parasites in your colon, it is better to remove them and repopulate and replenish the colon with good bacteria by eating prebiotic rich foods and if needed/recommended a strong probiotic.

The effectiveness and the number of treatments needed can indeed vary. Some people may experience significant relief and improved colon function after a single treatment, while others may require multiple sessions. This is always based on individual goals. When you have your first session your colon therapist will guide you and tell you more about this in detail. It is safe to have colonics frequently and even a few days/a week apart for best results. Your therapist will not make recommendations until after your session because they need to see what is going on internally before providing a qualified suggestion.

Your therapist will discuss this with you, however as a general rule avoiding greasy, sugary, spicy and other heavy foods directly after a colonic is best. Warm, soft, cooked foods (soup or bone broth) are recommended to help take the pressure off the digestive system. Drink lots of water and allow your body to rest if required. Alcohol should also be avoided after a colonic.

Males can definitely have colonics. All males are welcome at Flushed Wellness and we encourage them to come in and feel comfortable!

Laxatives are not fixing the root problem to what is happening. Factors that contribute to constipation are dehydration and laxatives are essentially stripping the body from water and the cycle of constipation continues. Side effects of laxatives are bloating, wind, tummy cramps and dehydration. Constipation is one of the main reasons people have colon hydrotherapy. Colonics are far more effective than a laxative.
